There’s a lot to do to start a business. Let me tell you a secret … despite everything they tell you, no one can do it all for you.
You’re going to have to put in some time and effort – especially in the beginning – to get things off the ground.
It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it and eventually you’ll be able to hand off some of the less fun things to other people you hire (or more likely contract with) to do them for you. But in the beginning, you will need to do them yourself.
There are a couple of reasons for this:
- You don’t have the income to pay someone to do it. If you have some startup money you can more quickly hand of tasks to others, but there are other reasons you should do it yourself.
- You need to learn how to do it. You can’t evaluate if someone else is doing it right or if you have the automation configured correctly if you don’t know how to do it yourself. Eventually you will probably hire people who are better than you at some of the things you do yourself in the beginning. Look forward to that!
So plan on doing most things yourself at first.
Let’s get back to what to do to start your business.
To have a successful business you need a plan. It doesn’t have to have everything laid out, but it should have some basics.
So, tomorrow we’ll start to look at some of the areas you need to put into your plan.
